WHAT IS KOMBUCHA

Kombucha is a fermented , slightly effervescent healthy probiotic drink. It normally tastes fizzy sweet, a little bit sour with a refreshing feel. Kombucha is majorly craft from sweetened tea that is cultured with SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast).

WHAT IS SCOBY

A SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast),  is a syntrophic mixed culture of yeast and bacteria, or normally known as a living culture that will consumes sugar during fermentation. SCOBY is usually used in the production of traditional foods and beverages.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE OF MSC KOMBUCHA AND OTHER KOMBUCHA IN THE MARKET

MSC Kombucha is made by using Organic Green and Black teas, local Organic fresh fruits and unique MSC SCOBY culture. Besides that, MSC Kombucha is also preservative and additive FREE so you can consume this unique beverage peace of mind.

WHERE DID KOMBUCHA ORIGINATED

The exact origins of kombucha are not known, but Manchuria is the most likely place of origin.  It may have originated as recently as 200 years ago or as long as 2,000 years ago. The drink is reported to have been consumed in east Russia at least as early as 1900 and from there entered Europe. Another story believes that Emperor Qin Shi is the first emperor to make and consume this unique beverage. Over sometimes, Kombucha experienced a dramatically growth and sudden become very popular in China, Canada, Europe and the whole western world especially United States.

WHAT IS THE BEST RANGE TIMES TO STORE MSC KOMBUCHA

The best consume range is in 3 months after manufacture. As MSC Kombucha contains living probiotic, thus the fermentation will continue after the manufacture of the beverage. So, this beverage must be chilled to keep the fermentation at a minimum rate in order to keep the original taste. Although the best consume range is about three months, but you still can consume it after that because it won’t go bad after three months, just the taste will become slightly sour and vinegary.

HOW TO STORE MSC KOMBUCHA

MSC Kombucha must be chilled in the refrigerator for long term storage. MSC Kombucha won’t go bad too even though it doesn’t chill, just it will ferment in a rocket rate and the taste will change unpredictable in sometimes. So, MSC Kombucha is preferred to chilled in the fridge, but it is still all right to keep in room temperature for a half day.

IS THERE ALCOHOL OR CAFFEINE IN KOMBUCHA

Fermentation will cause kombucha have a little bit (less than 0.5%) alcohol content in this beverage. Besides that, kombucha is made of teas, thus it will also have a little caffeine, but is much lower than same volume of a cup of tea. If you drink tea or eat banana, there is no problem to consume Kombucha!

IS MSC KOMBUCHA HALAL

Normally, fermented drinks are usually grouped into Non-Halal Group. However, kombucha is totally HALAL!  According to article, ethanol produced by natural fermentation and less than 1% is considered as preserving agent and its Halal status is allowed. As Kombucha is prepared by natural fermentation and the alcoholic content is less then 0.5%, thus it is considered as a HALAL drink! If you eat fruits, then you surely can drink MSC Kombucha!

WHAT IS THE FLOATIES ON THE TOP OF THE BEVERAGE

Those floaties are the living culture of a successful fermentation. It is safe for consumption as it is a good and healthy culture.

Our products are 100% natural and contains no harmful additives or preservatives. Due to natural fermentation process, a trace amount of alcohol can be found in MSC Kombucha (not more than 0.5% ABV). We recommend consulting with your Doctor prior to drink MSC Kombucha regarding any health concerns that you may have.
